Music and Language Arts
This is the first week in a three part series where we will be exploring cross curricular work between music and other disciplines. This week the focus is Music and Language Arts (sometimes called English). Below you will find a unit that asks students to write a true story based on a composer’s life for publication in an ebook. One of the goals of this unit is for students to make connections between composer’s life and their own. The Language Arts focus is storytelling. Students need to construct a story around a factual event with an setting, introduction, conflict, and resolution. On a technological level this unit asks students to use a variety of online tools. On such tool Storyjumper which students can use to create an ebook. Embedded below is also an Asset outline and a digital student guide sheet intended to help students complete their work.
